A little history about this. In January 2017, I sent out emails and recordings requesting to sing at various venues to include TheatreNOW. In February 2017, I received a reply back requesting me to audition for a stage play that required acting and singing skills. Feeling like acting wasn't my strongest skill, I went on ahead and auditioned anyway. I auditioned well enough to play the part of Shanita and I was thrilled. We all had an amazing time acting out our parts and I'm grateful for the experience. In February 2018, I was requested to audition again for another stage play called The Good Ol Girls and I got that part as well. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to inform the director that I wouldn't be able to continue with the rehearsals and stage play.
Moral of the story: I felt like acting wasn't my strongest skillset but I auditioned anyway and got the parts. So, never give up and keep pursuing your dreams even if you have to do something you've never done before. What you've never done before could lead to other exciting opportunities and in my case, it did. It lead me to being in the Wilmington International Airport Commercial released February 2018.
